Introduction to Bluesfest Byron Bay 2025
Get ready to grab your mates, your boogie shoes, and maybe a raincoat (there’s always one wet day) for the famous Bluesfest Byron Bay. Australia’s longest-running festival, with its quirky mix of big-name blues and roots artists, local legends, and barefoot cashed-up boomers in flower crowns, is back for its 2025 edition!
It’s the festival that says ‘see you next year!’ so it never feels like goodbye. It’s a music family reunion. A five-day musical bender with Willie Nelson, Tommy Emmanuel, Gang of Youths, Elvis Costello, The Teskey Brothers, Xavier Rudd, Lucinda Williams, and Bonnie Raitt! You need to flick through to see more, but there are 49 artists confirmed. This is an early release, there are 100 more still to be announced! For music lovers it’s kind of like taking acid and flicking through your Dad’s albums from the ‘70s.
The 36th annual Bluesfest Byron Bay will take place from Thursday, April 17 to Monday, April 21 2025, at the Byron Events Farm, Tyagarah. Situated right between Byron Bay and Mullumbimby.
Bluesfest Byron Bay 2025 Lineup
So far the Bluesfest 2025 lineup includes: Grammy, Country Music and American Music Award legend, Willie Nelson & Family; Grammy Award-winning hall of famer and Rolling Stone’s ‘100 Greatest Artists of All Time’
Bonnie Raitt, legendary American singer and songwriter, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer; Elvis Costello & The Imposters, legendary Australian guitarists and ARIA favourite, Tommy Emmanuel who will perform one set each day, with exclusive guests; Grammy Award-winning American singer, songwriter and musician, Lucinda Williams, returning Australian indie rockers, Gang of Youths; The Teskey Brothers; Xavier Rudd; Ian Moss & Troy Cassar-Daley; Xavier Rudd; Southern Avenue; Matt Schofield; Larkin Poe; Vintage Trouble; Nathaniel Rateliff; and The Night Sweats.
But that’s only the start! There are still 100 artists yet to be announced.
Tickets and Accomodation for Bluesfest Byron Bay 2025
Need a ticket? With five-day season tickets, and a range of one-day to four-day ticket options, you don’t have to have a full Bluesfest immersion experience. You can just dip in and out, or camp and really let yourself go! (not recommended for people with OCD. Or anyone who gets ‘hangover hair’).
There is a central bus transport system running from surrounding locations, so no need to drive. Shuttle buses from Byron Bay, Ballina, Lennox Head, Brunswick Heads, Ocean Shores, Mullumbimby and Bangalow!
Or do the full impact ticket. Bluesfest has a range of tailored camping and accommodation options catering for all budgets and tastes. This is a music festival that has come up with a range of offerings that caters for all levels of festival ruggedness!
If you’re a festival softy the Flash Camp is the camping experience for you. There’s also Tent City, and regular camping.
And if you don’t want to camp at all, there’s a range of accommodation through Byron Bay and surrounding areas and the Northern Rivers. But be warned, it gets booked out, so be in quick!

What is Bluesfest Byron Bay?
The Byron Bay Bluesfest, formerly the East Coast International Blues & Roots Music Festival, is an annual music festival in Australia held over the Easter long weekend.
It features a large selection of blues and roots performers, with performances occurring on several stages within the Tyagarah Tree Farm, just north of Byron Bay, New South Wales.
